The Department of Letters and the Postgraduate Programs in Letters and in Law and Institutions of the Justice System of the Federal University of Maranhão, in association with the CEUMA University are pleased to invite you to participate in the  II CIVIP - II INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON VIOLENCE, POLITENESS, CONFLICT MEDIATION AND ACCESS TO JUSTICE, to be held August 28-30, 2019 in São Luís – Maranhão, Brazil.

The main aim of the conference is to bring scholars, researchers, students, professionals and other groups interested in the themes concerning violence which are encompassed by this 2019 edition to present their works on recent developments about violence in their areas of study and take part in the discussion about such phenomenon. Besides prompting advancement and innovation in learning  and teaching, II CIVIP provides an opportunity for academicians and professionals from different fields to share their theoretical knowledge, research findings and good practices with their colleagues, the academic community and society in general.

 

As a result of the initiative of GELP-COLIN-UFC - Group of Studies on Language and Thought, led by Dr. Ana Cristina Pelosi, and supported in this 2019 edition by the GELP-COLIN-UFMA, it will take place at  UniCEUMA - Renascença, bringing together academicians and professionals from several foreign and Brazilian institutions of higher education, Basic Education teachers, postgraduate and graduate students, as well as professionals and those interested in those themes focused in  the  II CIVIP.

Coming from different Brazilian regions and abroad, CIVIP participants, either presenting papers or as audience, among conferences, round-tables, symposia, oral communications and poster presentations, under multi and transdisciplinary perspectives between linguistics, literature, law, sociology, anthropology, psychology, philosophy, nursing, health, social service, social communication and other related areas, will have the opportunity to discuss the problem of violence, not only raising people’s awareness but also addressing the problems related to the insecurity generated by the spread of acts of violence in in our society and in the world.
