Worked as a permanent lecturer at the National University of Distance Education (Madrid, Spain) from 2007 to 2010 and currently works at the University of La Rioja (Spain), where she teaches Linguistics. She works in cognitive linguistics, inferential pragmatics, construction grammar, and lexicology. More precisely, her main research interests are related to the organization of knowledge in the form of Idealized Cognitive Models, with especial emphasis on image-schemas, to cognitive modeling, and to argument structure and implicational constructions. She has coedited some books like Cognitive Linguistics: Internal Dynamics and Interdisciplinary Interaction (2005, Mouton de Gruyter) and Metaphor and Metonymy Revisited beyond the Contemporary Theory of Metaphor (2013, John Benjamins). She has published several papers in journals like Metaphor and Symbol, Language Sciences, Linguistics, Review of Cognitive Linguistics, Australian Journal of Linguistics, Journal of Pragmatics, RESLA, etc. and some chapters in books like Interaction and Cognition in Linguistics (Peter Lang), Cognitive Linguistics: Internal Dynamics and Interdisciplinary Interaction (Mouton de Gruyter), Current Trends in Contrastive Linguistics: Functional and Cognitive Perspectives (John Benjamins), Metonymy and Metaphor in Grammar (John Benjamins), Studies in Figurative Thought and Language (John Benjamins), or Constructing families of constructions: Analytical perspectives and theoretical challenges (John Benjamins). Her book Topology and Cognition. What Image-schemas Reveal about the Metaphorical Language of Emotions (Lincom Europa, 2003) was translated into Korean by Lim Ji-ryoung (Hankook Publishing Company, 2006). She has attended and actively taken part in more than 180 international conferences. She has been invited to present his research in universities and other institutions in Beijing (China), Czȩstochowa (Poland), Castellón de La Plana (Spain), Almería (Spain), Haro (La Rioja, Spain), and Santo Domingo (La Rioja, Spain). Since 2012 she is an associate editor of the Bibliography of Metaphor and Metonymy (Metbib), published by John Benjamins. She was the secretary of the Spanish Journal of Applied Linguistics (published by John Benjamins from 2014) from 2007 to 2011 and the editor of this journal from 2012 to 2017. She was the review editor of Review of Cognitive Linguistics from 2009 to 2016 and is a member of the editorial board of this journal since 2018. She was a member of the scientific board of Journal of English Studies from 2010 to 2016 and is currently a member of the scientific committee of RAEL (Revista Electrónica de Lingüística Aplicada) and of the editorial board of Neophilological Studies (Studia Neofilologiczne). She was a member of the scientific committee of international conferences such as the 2 nd International Symposium on Figurative thought and language (FTL 2, Pavia, Italy, 2015), the 3 rd International Symposium on Figurative thought and language (FTL 3, University of Osijek, Croatia, 2017), the 4 th International Symposium on Figurative thought and language (FTL 4, Catholic University of Portugal, Braga, Portugal, 2018), and the 8 th International Conference on Meaning and Language Representation (MKR, University of Granada, 2019). She has been a co-organizer of the 3 rd International Conference on Meaning Construction, Meaning Interpretation: Applications and Implications (CRAL, University of La Rioja, 2013), the secretary of the 44 th International Meeting of the Societas Linguistica Europaea (University of La Rioja, 2011), and a member of the organizing committee of the 16th National Conference of the Spanish Applied Linguistics Association (University of La Rioja, 1998), of the 8th International Cognitive Linguistics Conference (ICLC, University of La Rioja, 2003), of the 24 th International Conference of the Spanish Applied Linguistics Association (National University of Distance Education, Madrid, 2006), and the organizer or a member of the organizing committee of six workshops at the University of La Rioja. She has held some administrative positions such as secretary of the Department of Modern Philologies (University of La Rioja) since 2011 or Head of the Language Center of the University of La Rioja since 2017.
